Tharstern SQL is a fully comprehensive system that conveys management information to meet business demands, job progress visibility, and real time efficiencies. With JDF integration to our prepress, real time financial integration to Sage accounts, and optional output to Crystal Reports, we consider the information flow to be the key to managing our business. |

JDF - Job Definition Format enables us to automatically interface directly our TharsternSQL MIS to our Creo Prinergy workflow system. This communicates product description, and in return receives real time feedback status information of the processes occurring- offering complete job tracking, resource use, and costing functionality. |

| Since 1996, the colourhouse has been accredited with ISO standards for Quality – firstly with BS.5750, and ISO 9001:2000 since 2003. It means that we conduct quality checks at each stage of the order, and at each stage of production – documented and filed for annual audit by QMS |

Forest
Stewardship Council certification is the latest feature
we have added to our environmental credentials. Our
management system of purchases and storage of paper,
printing and finishing as FSC Pure, FSC Mixed and FSC
Recycled has achieved Chain of Custody certification
for paper derived from a well managed forest, certified
according to the rules of the FSC. the
colourhouse can be justifiably proud of its environmental

ISO 14001 is an ongoing commitment to doing all we can
to find ways to cut waste, energy consumption, chemical
and water use. Printing does not have to inhibit environmental
needs, as ‘green’ is not just about using
re-cycled paper - it is a C-change to the way we
work, the materials we use, and how we behave responsibly
as a manufacturing Company. That's why we are a Carbon
Neutral company. |

Determined to achieve manufacturing excellence, the team at the colourhouse, coached by Dti manufacturing service, have applied lean manufacturing principles throughout the Company using the appropriately named initiative Perfection Through Improvement. We build upon 5S (Kaizen) techniques, removing waste from the manufacturing process so that we subscribe to pull production systems in which subsequent processes give signals to preceding processes to produce more- at the right time, and to the right quantity.
